Therapy

Depth work for growth and clarity.

For people already doing well who want to go deeper, not just to cope. The work resolves what quietly shapes confidence, reactions and self-worth, so the life you have built becomes one you feel at home in.

ABOUT THIS SERVICE

Therapy

Therapy begins with a careful assessment: what you’re bringing, the context around it, and what you would like to be different. From that, a shared understanding is built: a clear picture of what is happening, why, and what would help. It becomes the map for the work.

The primary approach is EMDR (Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing), recommended by NICE for trauma and used more widely here in preventive and depth work. Alongside EMDR, methods from schema-focused, systemic, narrative and compassion-focused therapy are drawn on where they fit the situation.

Sessions are online or in London, either open-ended or a defined course.

In practice this suits people in visible, public-facing lives who want depth and resolution, not just tools for coping.

A fuller list of trained modalities is on the Credentials page.

Common questions

Is EMDR only for trauma?

No. EMDR is best known as a trauma treatment, but here it is most often used preventatively and developmentally, by people who are functioning well and want to resolve experiences that still quietly shape their confidence, reactions and self-worth. It is one of several evidence-based approaches, always chosen after careful assessment.

What happens in a first consultation?

Every engagement begins with a private consultation. What to expect →

How do you decide what we work on?

Every engagement begins with careful assessment and a shared formulation: a clear account of what is happening and why, agreed together before any intervention begins. You will always know what we are working on, and why.

What are the limits of this practice?

This practice offers planned, preventative and depth-oriented work; it is not a crisis or emergency service. I do not actively take on new clients who are currently in crisis. When someone already in my care experiences a crisis, I support them to access the right care alongside our work together. If you need urgent support now, please contact your GP, NHS 111, or, in an emergency, 999.

Depth work begins with one conversation.

If you are functioning well and ready to go deeper, the initial consultation is where we map what deeper means for you. Online or in London.
